GFI could have gone bad. I have replaced several that started tripping for no apparent reason. They are mechanical, so do have a lifespan.
Of course it could be in the wiring, but if nothing is new I would doubt it. Replace the GFI. If the new GFI trips then look elsewhere ( and then you have a spare GFI for later. )
