You should easily be able to find a local electronics repair facility that can repair them. I have taken a few dozen inverters apart and managed to repair the majority of them for a low cost to the customer - Parts are very low cost the FET's are typically less than $1.00 each.
I hate to see folks toss good stuff in the trash. Currently we have six or eight 42" HDTV's that were tossed in the trash all of them are working great and were easily repaired.
