Samlex 24v 2kw inverter install

New 24v inverter is in and working fine.

Here's the 24v side with my Outback60 solar controller wires attached. The inverter sits on top of the battery compartment. It's not secured yet so it's a bit crooked. 4- T605s in series are directly underneath with the 1/0 feed wires coming up through the holes formerly occupied by 4/0 cable. I should probably find a way to seal up the holes as I don't want fumes coming through. Couple nice big fans on the unit which run when there's a big load.

Access to hard wire connector. Not easy working with Romex here!

Romex installed:

3pdt knife switch shown with one safety cover. Pretty sure those big copper blades will handle 30a. I used all 3 poles to include the grounds. I like working with Romex for this part because it makes a very solid connection when you bend it in a "U" and secure to with screw terminals. Metal wire standoffs from local hardware store. I had to secure that white wall with a couple L-brackets as the switch movement takes some effort. The hot water is on the other side.

My helpers were all tuckered out after 4 days of work!

The unit idles pretty warm when sitting all day with 26-28 volts on its terminals from solar. "Ken" at Samlex support said not to worry about that. He's very helpful and responsive. I was concerned it was sucking a lot of idle power from batteries but after sitting all night it's much cooler.
