I'm thinking that at such a low wattage it's not really a reliable indication of anything. This is where a really accurate ammeter would come in handy. Technically 30W is so low that easily 95+% of that could be going toward nothing more than generating heat in the converter. But I still think it could have some meaning and here's how:
During absorption the amperage should be tapering off, right? So during the early stages of abs the Kill a watt might still be showing 200-250W for example. Then as time goes by, the wattage will slowly continue to drop as the battery continues to charge. Eventually the watts shown will level off and drop no further. This should occur when you reach 100%. It is not so significant what the number is, just that it stopped dropping.
Still, this is just a theory. With an ammeter I'll know for sure.
