Today I tried using the Boondocker to do an equalization charge on my grp24 Interstate. You might remember from one of my previous threads that this battery is about a year old but has never really been deep cycled. After months of sitting in my garage connected to my Battery Tender I was getting SG's of 1.225-1.230 and a resting voltage of 12.3 or so.
I tried various wall warts and even blasted it with 16+ volts from that Schumacher, (although it only did that for about 20 minutes before it dropped to float).
I was more or less ready to give up on it, especially since I have the Trojans now, but it got one last chance now that I have the Boondocker.
So, gave it about 4 hours of 15.5V and what do you know, SG's are all 1.260-1.265 and resting voltage is 12.61V. I get that the SG's are still on the low side, but wow, what an improvement from what it was doing. It may still have some useful life in it!
