A Harbor Fright 500 amp carbon load tester will barely pull 200 amperes max on any 3 cell battery. But it is enough. A 200 ampere load on a 260 ampere hour 6 cell battery is "enough".

A full 30 second loading. But NOT at higher than 200 amps to protect the machine.

If the battery is marginal it will show up like a sore thumb between the 20 and 30 second mark.

It would help IMMENSELY if telecomm battery owners could share test data.
