Got my new (used) batteries!! Now, how do I rejuvenate them?

I didn't touch the terminals directly, but I put painter's tape over them and they were not hot thru the tape. Slightly warm.

I was worrying about other things so I did not do precise assessment of temperature, but I did ask myself 'Is it hot?' and conclude 'No.'

I am not sure how much that helps.
