You can try to clean them, but it's more than likely when you use them and they get hot, more grease will percolate to the surface and you'll have greasy brakes all over again.
Cleaning them will work better if you caught the problem immediately and just the surface has a little grease on it. If they're grease soaked, bite the bullet and get replacement pads. They aren't cheap considering what you get, but better safe than sorry.
