- fj12ryderExplorer IIIYou can try to clean them, but it's more than likely when you use them and they get hot, more grease will percolate to the surface and you'll have greasy brakes all over again.
Cleaning them will work better if you caught the problem immediately and just the surface has a little grease on it. If they're grease soaked, bite the bullet and get replacement pads. They aren't cheap considering what you get, but better safe than sorry. - Dave_H_MExplorer IIconsidering the cost and the peace of mind, I replace them.
Just the way i do it. - ret_usnExplorerClean with a good brake cleaner. let dry and clean one more time and should be good.Have had good success with this in the past.
