I have an optima yellow top(deep cycle) in my Yukon that is more than 10 years old. It has powered 2 of our campers before using it in the Yukon. I have been using the desulfation mode on my charger maybe once a year to try to extend its life. I dont know for sure if it is helping, but so far it seems to be. I recently had the Yukon in a shop for a/c repair and they left a jumper wire on the a/c clutch relay which drained the battery down to 1.8v. My charger would not charge it, until I piggy backed another battery on until it was over 11v. I desulfated it the other day, I will have to see if the battery holds up. In my other vehicles and the camper I have duracell agm's (made by east penn/deka. I have been very happy with them.
