Unless a cell shorts out, I will not be caught unawares of the decline and not be able to start the engine.
But I have been considering getting a small 12 to 22Ah emergency engine jumper AGM for the inevitable day when the battery has lost the ability to easily crank the engine when depleted 60AH of its original 90.
I can store a lot of battery capacity, ~250more Ah than I have now, but with my charging sources and this potent but only 90Ah agm, my cycle per$$ ratio is en route to exceed, by far, all my other battery strategies since my addition of solar a decade ago.
I want to make the NS last until more reports come out on the Firefly carbon foam AGM in actual use, and I also want to learn Lifepo4 prisimatic cells.
But at this point another Northstar to swap over to deep cycle duty, would be big bundle of warm and fuzzy as my current 27 is still doing chest thumping tarzan yells in middle age.
i am having budgetary issues at this point in time, which is why I have reduced deep cycling from 5 or more per week or more to just one or 2.
