MEXICOWANDERER
Jul 07, 2015Explorer
There is nothing easier than mounting a couple of meters and 10-turn pots next to a full-on meter for monitoring a battery system. Hot weather ahead? 110F, spin the wheel of fortune. Freeze your arse-off cold spell on the way? Wheeeee! How much easier can it get? I can set my system for lithium, flooded, gel, Ni-cad or alkaline cells. Sometimes when it gets hotter than the hinges of Hades I dial down float values to the high twelves. Of course shore power is different than generator settings. The micrometer-like dials on the pots allow reasonably accurate voltage pre-setting.
