Had to put a new plug on travel trailer?

I had to replace my plug due to one leg was getting hot and melting. I purchased one that splices on which is all that was available. I used yellow butt splicers which fit the wire perfectly and crimped them securely and then taped each one individually. Now I am wondering if yellow butt splicers are rated for 30 amp 110 volt? Would someone with that expertise care to give me some direction?

    Yellow butt splices are for 10 and 12 wire. They should be OK for your application.
    Check your adapter if you have been using on. They can be bad causing loose connection with the male cord body.
    I would suggest picking up a new 30 amp cord body and take it with you. I like the yellow ones with the handle.
