hard wired my converter in but not sure of polarity

I hard wired my new converter into my Magnetek 7345. It fit right into the lower opening. Everything is running great. But my question is this. I believe when I cut the plug off and wired it into ...

I have wired several myself. This cord did not have this. Like I said it had a green insulated wire in the middle the two outside wires are sheathed in black insulation. I believe I did get it right just not sure and curious as to any problem this could cause. Of course the green wire is grounded.
