Wow, I guess I came to the right place. Thank you for all the insightful information. I am going to do some reading tonight on the articles that were mentioned.
I checked my battery bank after letting it sit without a load on it (battery switch off) and it's reading 12.7V so it's looking fully charged. I'm just nervous because in the truck camper I ruined the battery because of my misunderstanding on batteries and don't want to do that on 8 batteries that I have now.
I feel like my bank of 340 amp batteries should be easily enough to run the heater and charge cell phones while sleeping (running the generator until we go to bed) and I was just a bit frustrated to see my batteries so low after 10 minutes of small use.
I'll have to look into my charge controllers and see exactly what they can do.
