Hi,
Do you have a way to switch or combine between banks?
Very few folks have two battery banks. Even fewer have both six and twelve volt jars.
It is possible to have switches to allow both banks to be drawn on at once, as well as sharing charging. Or using one bank while charging the other.
Trojan wants voltages as high as 15.8 volts (for a series paring of six volts) to completely charge their products. The existing controller must be capable of allowing charging set point changes and be adjusted to that number. If not, it will force you to use shore or generator power at least once per week to fully charge them.
I have two banks--but my batteries are all identical makes. They are different ages, which is one reason I chose to separate them.
