Having trouble repairing shwintec slide

I purchased from the Lippert factory the new side rails and repair kit for our four year old slide. The directions were clear and I had no problems replacing the parts. I did find some installation issues from the DRV factory. One was a flexible thick plastic piece that was laid in the slide opening before the slide installation to insure water did not get inside the trailer. I was wadded up and had been interfering with the slide from the time it was new. Anyway, I got it all together and tried to operate the slide and it moves one inch and stops. The red light in the control box blinks 8 flashes which indicates and short in the wire between the controller and the slide motor. I checked all five wires in the cluster for continuity and it seems to be find. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any sage advice or tips.
  • The info is ON the motor. If the P/N on the motor is 287298 you have a 500 to 1. If that number is NOT on the motor you have a 300 to 1. 95 percent of the systems have 300 to 1 motors. Doug
