The microwave may be fed through the inverter. The inverter could have saved it by tripping the 120 volt AC input circuit breaker.
The chasis battery normally would not have been effect by shore power.
I would use caution about connecting a portable charger to the system. Disconnect the battery and charge the battery, then reconnect to system.
