A little hijacking here - don't have anything AC that would require more than 150W, my microwave works as an extra cupboard space. But with all this talk about minimum 4 batts needed to run 1400W - I'm curious how people are able to use their MWs with inverter?
The smallest MW draws +1,100W (make it 1,300 w/inverter losses), and it runs minutes, not seconds. Very few people have more than 4 GC. My 300AH AGM bank is equivalent to ~2.5 GC. Energy in AH is not a problem - plenty of unused solar harvest every day, but if MW will force me to get another 300AH bank, - I would rather keep on using it as a cupboard. It makes a nice cupboard btw, no ants, scorpions, rats etc will ever get in there.
