help on charging batteries in parrellel

I know this has been discussed on here before but I can't seem to find it. I know there is a proper way too charge batteries in parallel but not sure what it is, can someone please refresh as I don't want to do it wrong. I just went from a single 12 volt too 2 12 volt batteries. Thank You for your help!!

  • I'm sure a debate on the efficacy of doing that will begin shortly. I'll start: it makes very little difference if the charger is hooked to one battery or two.
  • "when you charged them in parallel you hooked up to the positive on one battery and then you hooked the neg. side on the other battery"

Don't know if that's right but that's the way I do mine.

Charge them in parallel the same way you use them, nothing special required.

The reason I ask that question was I could have swore I saw someone on here post that when you charged them in parallel you hooked up to the positive on one battery and then you hooked the neg. side on the other battery if that makes sense. I tried to find that again but couldn't find it and I may be totally crazy too.

I also charge my two batteries that way, one battery positive, battery #2 negative. I feel more confident that way.
