This is a professional's relay. Something that will not play pinchy-goggle after a few years of use. Yes, it is the one and only, very same relay as used in battery separators. The companies that make smart battery separators choose this relay for a reason. Can you guess what it is?

"But I have no idea what kind I have now? Is it a "relay"? And does that mean I have a switch somewhere?"
Not necessarily. Many of these nightmares are connected to an ignition circuit and switch on and off with the ignition key.
I would not own nor install one of these psychobabble grade charge controllers if it was given to me. And I think I can find folks who would get on their hands and knees and praise the almighty if you'd just vote for Elvis Presley for governor.
Rectifier isolators are ONLY comparable against the reliability of a garbage can metal solenoid relay. Got it? Use a good relay solenoid like I posted above and rectifier isolators are like feasible comparing a new refrigerator to daily The Ice Man deliveries. Using a smart separator eliminates wires and switches. Period. If you insist on buying yourself into problems then it's a personal choice - and should be the end of the discussion.
