HELP!...What can I do to keep fridge cold and food safe?

I also carry a large cooler and put frozen gallons of Iced tea in it, I have never needed to use it but the ice cold tea never goes to waste..
The first thing I do to the reefer in a new unit is install small fans to remove the excess heat..
