Help with Dometic AC interior cover

Sorry for the delay in responding.

I have been working on a bunch of other items on the 5th wheel. Wow you buy a brand new rig and there is a ton of work!

I finally went back and had another try at the cover yesterday. I fiddled with it and finally slid it all the way off. I knew that the part closest to the edge that didn't go all the way in had small slide tabs. I just kept trying to get everything to line up and discovered that pressure had to be applied on both sides to get the slide tabs to fully line up. Someone with three hands could do it very easily! Once I got those tabs fully engaged in the channel it lined up and closed completely. It seems that the tabs could start half way down the channel but the last half of the tab was below the channel and that what was preventing it from closing all the way. Once the tabs were completely in the channel no problem.

No I played with it some more and even tried to install without the filter screen to no avail. I'm going to have my wife take a look and see if she can figure it out. I was also going to call my RV dealer and see if they knew of any tricks.

Any update?

When you"popped" it open with the screwdriver, how far did it open? Just about to where it stops when you try to close it? Maybe you just need to push it a bit harder to "pop" it closed again.

No I played with it some more and even tried to install without the filter screen to no avail. I'm going to have my wife take a look and see if she can figure it out. I was also going to call my RV dealer and see if they knew of any tricks.

Well if you look at the back you can see it's rounded off and matches the housing,pretty obvious it only installs one way. Wasn't trying to be sarcastic.

Can you google the model number and find the instruction manual?

OP here,

No it is not upside down. The filter can only be placed one way in cover as there are tabs and grooves that hold it in place.

The cover was taken off by inserting a flat screwdriver into slots that can be seen where gap is. Once this was "popped" it just slid back and off. There are grooves or channels that the curved part of the cover slid into to hold it flush against the cover. I just can't seem to "pop" it back into position.

If the filter is in the cover and thats the only thing that was touched then it stands to reason the the filter is somehow not seated right, maybe sticking up somewhere and hitting against something to stop it.
