Lots of information in such a short time... thanks so much.
So after reading all the responses I went out and jump-started the RV. My "Smart" charger didn't do the trick, and wouldn't even allow me to charge the battery, but jumping it did the trick.
Now that I know I can at least get the thing going I shut it off and pulled the battery. Took it to O'Rileys, it didn't fail, so it's charging right now... I will pick it up in about an hour and see if I can at least get it started manually.
After reading through all your posts I called technical support for Intellitech and spoke with a technician about the Battery Isolator Controller. What he said was that this component basically jumps voltage to the coach batteries while driving. Additionally, it acts as an auxiliary starter when the chassis battery is running low. At least that's what I think he said.
I ordered a replacement Battery Controller on Saturday and it should be in by the first of next week. From your posts and my conversation with the tech I think the next step is to replace the alternator, replace the controller, and see where I'm at. The thing I don't want to do is get everything supposedly in good order, take it out on a trip, and find myself stuck somewhere because I didn't address the culprit, the real reason this happened in the first place. If there's a short in the system I want to figure it out before I hit the road in this rig.
Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
