Help with gas line question

I am in the process of changing my stove/oven to just a stove top, as I was connecting the gas lines I smelled Gas. Yes shut off, then got a gas sniffer and it seems the gas hose has a leak not the metal parts. So how would you tell me the best way to fix it? Its about 6 or 7 inches from the metal parts the bring the gas to the stove top. Do I get some more hose and some fittings to cut and reconnect because its also on a curve area. Or what??????

    Rhagfo, its rubber.

Well like I stated in our 5er all connections are made with soft copper with flared fittings.
If you have a rubber line I would strongly suggest taking to your local propane dealer and have a replacement made. I have done this with pigtails and other propane hoes and the cost is reasonable.

Is the line you are referring to copper or rubber. all of our gas connections inside the RV are flared soft copper tubing.
  • Go to a propane dealer and buy a new hose. Unless you have the proper tools there is no way for a DIYer to repair them.
