Yes 150 to 300 watts solar is 'worth it' to reduce generator run time.

I recommend Morningstar controllers. Although at 200 watts it is not a huge deal. Do verify the controller you get has adjustable voltage set points so that you can match the battery specs. Controller must be rated for the volts and amps of the panels.
Is that generator the EU3000i H1A or the EU3000IS1A? But honestly I would be looking at the EU2200 as it seems to do real well powering the A/C for many people. Save the space and weight for an extra fuel tank.
