"Turn-key" means what?
A solar kit that you have to rebuild isn't. You might as well get the components you really want and assemble your own.
A portable may be turn-key if it does not need to be rebuilt, but it is not turn-key to use, since you have to deploy it every stop.
An installed solar set-up is turn-key to use but not to install.
Utility of portable can depend on length of stay and other factors as mentioned above. If theft is the issue, you can also put the portable on the roof for its location if your situation allows.
If you have a cargo rail you can make a tray to lash to that to carry the panel in so it still works up there and only take it down for a ground set-up when you want that. Also means no storage problems inside the rig between stops.
