Mar 31, 2015"Turn-key" means what?
It means a system that comes with all the necessary components and is ready to be deployed out of the box. Mine 120 watt kit consists of 2 folding 60 watt panels hinged together with built-in legs, controller, wiring and a duffel storage bag. Hard to beat for the price.
I had a professionally installed roof-mounted system consisting of 3 tilting 135 watt panels in my last moho that cost me considerably more than $200 that worked very well but it had its own limitations. In order to get the most out of panels, I had to make sure I chose a site with the correct orientation relative to the sun and trees. Of course, there were many times that I didn't have the option to pick an optimal site.
With the portable kit, I no longer have to worry about trees or orientation. I set the panels on the ground and move them every few hours as needed, squeezing as much juice out of the system as possible.
I use the portable kit on a TT with two Group 24 batteries and we run the TV, satellite receiver and two computers practically all day without any problems. I use the genny to boost the batteries in the evening and we are good to go for the next day.
