Purchased the 5 amp for individual battery charging, not for charging the whole bank. I have a Xantrex Freedom 458. Currently the remote panel for the xantrex is dead, I traced it down to the control board. Still charges and inverts, just won't talk to the remote panel. If I disconnect/reconnect the remote panel the charge LED on the panel will light for about 20 seconds then go out. Also, I believe the battery temp sensor is bad. It floats at 13.5 and does not change with ambiantemp. When its 30 deg.F it should be floating at 14.3. I have a new temp sensor on order.
I know it's a 12 plus old unit but its rock solid and still manufactured. Found a source for the control board and might replace so I can get the remote panel back. Equalize mode can only be initiated by using the remote panel, the only option I'm without.
