You ordered both the Eco-worthy and a 230w panel. Yes, yes your conversion to the dark side is complete. Brahahahahahahahahaha.
I don't know what happens when you exceed 20a nor do I intend to find out. I could have bought used 300w panels for $90 but even derated they were too big at altitude. My 230w put out 13-14a in PWM, a 300w is going to push the limit before MPPT. I also believe that closer to the VOC limit is going to give a bigger MPPT boost. 250w or so would be my comfortable limit.
I need a few more DMM but I could use the two panels to see if higher voltage results in a higher MPPT boost. The poly gets to a usable point faster but the mono's voltage gets higher eventually as the light gets intense. Up there the mono may prove itself.
Everyone assumes that having the panel portable means tracking the sun. I left ours flat for a week of morning sun/ afternoon clouds and had more power than we needed. When it's cloudy all day it is nice to be able to track.
I was a bit worried about the panel at the lake. It, the Champ and the neighbors EU3000 were all out. Nothing happened, maybe because it's not a good idea to mess with a RV during hunting season. lol
