I remember learning the hard way...
32 Volt systems, 37.5 volts charging. Touching positive through a wrench, and negative, my arm resting on a grounded battery case frame. That learned-me fast.
2nd degree burn on inside of left forearm.
Then I had read Thomas Edison fought like a wildcat to regulate electrical production to direct current only. Edison, is regarded as a genius. But not in this department. High voltage DC will kill you just as dead as alternating current. I've been zapped with 200 VDC and it threw me backward six feet. It felt like someone knocked me on the crown of my head with a lead pipe.
Yes yes yes I know about the "alternating current tends to freeze a grip" but that hype has morphed its way into some kind of atrocity that has direct current reduced to "Teddy Bear" status. Somehow I have to make this information stick here. OK here goes...
100 volts 10 amps will burn your ass to a crisp!
Is this strong enough?
Please be smart and be safe. Wear gloves and googles and think before you act. An electrical "spark" can eject material that can embed itself into the cornea of your eye.
