Simple. You need to add a TDR, Time Delay Relay, and a heavy electrical load (***)to your A/C.
The idea is that the relay delays providing power to the compressor for 2-3 seconds, initially providing a connection to the new "load". A/C switch "demands" cooling, the load comes on line, the genset revs up to speed, then the TDR switches the AC to the compressor.
*** 2 500W halogen bulbs.
An AC typically draws 3X the running load at compressor startup, maybe even 5X at times, high head pressure.
BRILLIANT! Not just because of the 1000 watts of light shining for 3 seconds to rev the generator out of Eco-Speed, but because it is simple to cut the AC compressor Hot wire and wire the TDR Time Delay Relay between the 2 cut ends then connect a ground. The best part is that I wont have to mod the generator and void the warranty.
Thanks "wwest". Any suggestions of a part number for the TDR?
Ebay....
Incandescent bulb filaments represent a fairly high inrush current with initial power application, sometimes a delay of only 1/2 will work, depends on genset response time.
