Honda 2000 genset starter add on Mod

I want to start my Honda with a starter , I dont know how I'm going to do it yet but its gonna happen very soon .
I'm going to get rid of the rope pulley setup altogether.
Finding a small starter should be easy.
Making mounts to mount the starter and lining it up should be easy.
The only problem I see is finding a part to mount to the crankshaft so the starter can spin it.
I'm thinking of taking the existing part off of the crankshaft to use as a template so i can locate the correct position of the mounting holes to make a custom part with teeth that the starter will spin.
Anybody ever pull this off or have info/ links please post

Hope it doesn't cost more than just purchasing a EU3000i that comes with electric start...
  • I did find a kit for a Honda gx160 motor but I have a Honda gx100

    Honda EU2000i Remote Start

I was aware of this guy , I actually emailed him right before posting this thread trying to see if he has any parts that would be useful to me. I'm waiting on a response from him but i dont think he's gonna have what I'm looking for because the way he engineered his he kept the rope pulley assembly and his starter goes through it.
I'm looking to do it a much simpler way but the simpler way will give up the portability of the Honda.
I dont need mine to be portable because I'm gonna use it for a RV.
  • Just Google Honda 2000 electric start. Takes about 6 seconds.
  • The starter wires can very easily be extended to inside the rv so I can start the generator from inside.
