Generator Cover
I bought one of these to help secure the generator:
Deterrent Bracket
I have a piece of exterior grade plywood, slightly larger than the base of the generator, bolted to the floor of the carrier. Using a hole saw, I made cutouts for the feet. These keep the generator from shifting around when running or when I'm driving.
I use a nylon strap to hold the generator in place. For security, I use a grade 70 piece of chain covered with a bicycle tube. This is looped through the handle, around the generator and fed through the floor of the carrier where it is locked together underneath.
Chain
Lastly, the padlock is one of the anti-theft types.
