Honda EU2000i alternative gas caps for adding external tank

For those looking to add an external fuel tank to your Honda EU2000 generator, I discovered a few alternative gas caps that fit the generator. This way you do not have to destroy your stock generator gas cap, and instead you can drill or tap through a cheaper gas cap. With all the part numbers listed below, be sure to look for gas caps that have more of a flat top than dome top. I believe this could help when you try and get a tight seal.

The gas caps on the Honda HR214 and GXV120 mowers fit. You will need to remove the vented insert inside the cap and install a rubber gasket. You could use the rubber gasket from your stock cap or make one from an inner tube or other rubber gasket material.
