A Honda 2000 is about a grand. A 3000 is about two grand. I'd buy a 2000 watt Companion (unless your other one has the 30A outlet), parallel cables, and call it done. 3500 watts from that will be decent for most things. You lose the remote start ability, but it is very easy to add an extended run gas tank for both generators to help with long boondocking trips.
To boot, if you need another 1500-1750 watts, Wise Sales sells a three eu2000i parallel kit.
The downside of the 3000 watt unit. My Yamaha is heavy. It stays in my truck bed and doesn't go anywhere. Two Hondas are a lot easier to deal with, especially if one just uses them on occasion. Unless remote start is critical, I go with another 2000 watt Honda, because you can carry just one or both with you.
