I do the same thing here using my 2KW Honda EU2000i generator to just re-charge my batteries.
I have three GP24 12VDC batteries in my layout and they want to see around 52-53 amps when hit with 14.4VDC coming from my 60AMP PD9260C converter.
When camping off the power grid where my trailer will be direct connected to the 2KW Honda generator using a RV30A-15A long Adapter (WALMART) my game plan is to run the on-board PD9260C converter using smart mode charging for around three hours to get my batteries back to their 90% charge state.
The PD9260C wants to draw around 1000WATTS AC to produce full power. My 2KW HONDA revs up pretty good when powering up my PD9260C under load.
The 1KW Honda EU1000i generator output AC rating is probably around 900WATTS AC would not be able to run my PD9260C Converter with this full load on it.
This is kind of thing you will need to look for in your battery bank setup
