- gmctoymanExplorerYep, we ran into the problem in the fall, in idaho. Colder it got, the worse the problem. Changed to thinner oil, and added a little extra which helped some, but didn't totall solve the problem.
- NinerBikesExplorerI usually do an oil change and put in just shy of a 1/2 a qt in a Eu2000i. Mobil 1 5w-30 full synthetic.
- AH64IDExplorerCommon on cold EU2000's, even with synthetic oil. Like others have said add a little more oil.
- rjsurferExplorerAll great ideas, I'm going to change out the oil first, its probably due and use synthetic with a wider viscosity range for these colder months.
If still an issue maybe add a bit more oil.
Its funny I thought it was the usual issue with a clogged jet or diffuser tube, been through that before and was all set to open the carb up again. By chance I noticed the oil warning light going on just before the generator died.
Ron W. - rjf7gExplorerIs it level?
- Crazy_RayExplorerDo as Old-Biscuit said. Had the same problem on my 2000 added about 3 tbs. No more problems
- FishermanExplorerIt can also be due to too high a viscosity oil, doesn't get warm fast enough to run back down to the crankcase and then it trips the low oil switch.
- Mandalay_ParrExplorerCould be the sensor or loose connection.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIAdd a few tablespoons more of oil
