Someone posted a comparison they did a couple of years ago and the Honda had better surge capacity. I myself often run it for short periods well in excess of its ratings and it doesn't give any indication that it's laboring.
I think people buy the Honda because it's legendary.
If I had it to do over again I would get the Yamaha because my Honda has always been a pig to start. Even new it took 18 pulls to start it.
