If you plan to be in the mountains a lot anyway, maybe just bring a small generator for battery charging and skip the commercial power all together? Most forest service C.G.'s don't have power available anyway and, as you likely know, the west has lots of dispersion camping available. You could even spend some time (and money) and put together a solar system for your rig.
I don't know about the east coast, but in the SW, wildflower season usually peaks in April. Here in the NW, in July .... at the higher elevations.
