Hi, I last did the hoses and belts on my class C v-10 in 2009. I've driven 100,000 miles since then. They appear to be in good shape, but I'm thinking an ounce of prevention would be worth a pound ...

I drive where temps get to 122F and cars are 5 hours apart.
A breakdown with my health means death. Not 99% certain -- 101% certain.
Individual analysis of potential consequences have to be made. I have lost friends in good health due to stranding on deserted roads. B. Reynolds Benton/Lee Vining CA 120 Jan 1989. She was in excellent health. Found frozen to death.
Certain instances being stranded does not involve the danger of moving off the shoulder until AAA arrives.
This puts a whole new perspective on the necessity of avoiding being stranded. The only preventative is meticulous maintenance.
