I installed a tee then a valve. A second multiple turn valve is added as a metering valve. I then ran hose to the fresh water tank vent hose using a Y.
With this setup, I open the valve till I hear the pump run the third time and then have nearly instant hot water at the sink or shower with no waste.
I can also heat the plumbing and water tank by running the system at a slow rate.
I really like this. No additional pump needed.
You use 2 valves so you can leave the adjustable one at a fixed flow rate and use the other for off/on?
But running a hose all the way back to the FW tank vent would be a major operation on my trailer. The water lines run within the floor and I've never opened the enclosed basement.
I'll have to think about this one.
That is correct, the metering valve is left at a fixed rate, however it should be adjusted for less flow when used for tank heating to minimize the pump cycling.
It could be an easy install or quite a job depending on layout, for me it was rather easy.
