Over in the class C forum, there is this about Battleborn Li and using a DC-DC as surge protector too:

What is that about? Does it relate to this thread's topic?
The Stirling gizmo and the PD 60 amper for Li (we know how that works! or not--ie don't leave it on for long etc)
So would the same sort of thing apply with an SiO2 for the house battery? What is the surge threat? Thanks
