Yeah, those batteries are toast, not going to get much recovery from those, they will be heavily damaged.
IF your setup is really providing 13.2V during storage AND you are REGULARLY CHECKING THE WATER LEVEL you shouldn't need to be adding that much water at one time.
I guess you never check the water levels?
Should never let the water go below the plates.
My two 6V GC batts are going on 10 yrs old and the most water I have had to add was 1 quart between both batteries in ONE YEAR.
Check mine once in the Spring and once in the Fall but I DO have a 3 stage converter.
