House battery keeps dying

DH noticed that house battery was dead. Took it out and onto work bench to plug into charger. Battery later was completely charged. Reinstalled into the RV and 12 hours later the battery is dead again. Is the inverter bad or can there be something else wrong?

  • Most tire and auto parts houses will load test your battery for free.
  • The only way (ok, maybe not the only way, but an easy way) to effectively evaluate the condition of your battery is to do as suggested above. Charge it, then completely disconnect the battery and a few hours later see if it is lower thant 12.7 or 12.6 volts. If its lower than that and dropping, its time for a new battery. If it holds? then you have something turned on and it is drawing the battery down.
