How cold is too cold

Hey all,

We have our first planned trip of the year next weekend and I am wondering about freezing water lines. If our current pattern stays the same our location will have highs in the low 50's and lows around 28-32 degrees at night. My question is will these freezing or just below freezing temps harm my water lines if they only drop for a few hours. Even though heat rises I would assume the heater running inside the trailer would at least help a bit. Once I get it home I woudl rewinterize it as it will probably be a few weeks before we head out again. Should I play it safe and go without water, or should these temps be okay?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

  • Much as to do with the type of coach and where the plumbing is located. Some trailers and 5th wheels have exposed outside plumbing parts which could create problems. Most motorized coaches have everything internal and the coach heat also blows into the plumbing / tanks area keeping everything safe from freezing.
Maybe some additional information about your coach would be helpful.
  • I've camped like your talking and I put some water in fresh water tank and disconnected the fresh water hose and stored it overnight.
