How do I access my fresh water pump???

We've recently purchased a new 2017 Springdale by Keystone 225RB travel trailer. The fresh water pump appears to be in the left front, inside the left cargo door and under the bed at the left front of the trailer. I want to install a kit on the pump inlet to add anti-freeze to the lines for winterization. Problem is, how the heck do I access the pump? It appears to be housed behind two Luann panels forming a right angle, but I don't see any fasteners in which to take it apart to get to the pump? Anybody out there with a Springdale or a Keystone that's experienced the same problem?

  • You can access the pump by raising the bed. After raising the bed, the top of the box on the driver side of the trailer will lift up. Grab the fibers of the carpet at the front. The carpet that is draped over makes its own hinge. After you open it the first time, drill a small hole and put a small pull knob (like on a kitchen cabinet) on top, so you can open it easily the next time. The top of that box covered with carpet lifts straight up. That's how you access it.

  • Yup, I just disconnect the supply line from the water tank and stick it into a bottle of pink stuff.
  • kent beat me to it. anywhere on the intake side. but I would let the pump clear the intake of water as much as possible before switching.
  • You ca install your winterization kit anywhere in the line between your water tank and the pump, so if you can get to the hose on the water tank that would be an option.
  • Did you try lifting the mattress to see if there is an access panel?
My last TT had that. Pull the mattress off the bunk and there was a loose piece of plywood I pulled out to access the furnace and water pump and HWT.
  • Yes, don't you love the way they build them? On my TT I can at least see the water pump but it's the back corner under the refer. Can't get anything on the back screw. I'm thinking of just cutting the hoses, leaving it there, and mounting another other closer to the front of the cabinet where I can reach everything. It's either that or remove the refer and maybe I can get to it.
