How do I coax more life from my golf cart batteries ?

I tried the Epson salts solution on a trolling motor battery many years ago and thought it was a miracle cure at the time. The battery came back to life like new, for a few months, and then it was flat dead. Looking back, I suspect the solution cleaned the plates and the debris built up on the bottom, shorting the plates. The lesson I learned is you will be replacing the battery soon anyway.

I didn't know anything about conditioning or equalizing charge at the time. I was jut a kid with a dead battery
