Thanks for the advice.
It makes sense that one needs to over voltage the cells in order to liberate the sulfate. It is essentially a reverse electrochemical reaction, ie deplating the sulfate back into solution.
I increased the current and voltage on one of my sets to 10A and 16V. I'll test them tonight and report my findings.
