- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerYou're absolutely correct, when common sense fails to note orange hand cleaner with pumice would not be appropriate.

Dirt cheap
Press nozzle flat against crack and smear a trace right down the crack nozzle wide
When puncturing the nozzle seal for first use, use a PAPERCLIP to control flow.
Continue one half inch past the end of the crack.
The repair is stronger than the parent plastic
I have repaired dozens and dozens of badly cracked 5 gal plastic water bottles this way and 3 years later customers claim no failures. Even for the two where a chunk of plastic had to be bonded. Wuuwee!
I suppose you are referring to goop GLUE as opposed to goop HAND CLEANER :) - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerGOOP

Wuuwee! - egroveExplorerHow old is the skylight? If it has some years on it then UV may be starting to get the best of it, and you'll fix one crack only to get another not long after. That's what happened with mine. Also, if the screws were installed to tightly it will be prone to cracking. Best thing to do is replace it.
- NanciLExplorer IIThanks all.
I'll try that drilling a hole at the end of it and then sealing it again
Jack L - tvman44ExplorerI drilled a small hole at the end of the crack and sealed with proflex then put a strip of eternabond over that. That was 2 years ago and still leak proof. :)
- gboppExplorerStop drill the crack so it doesn't grow. I applied a 1" strip of Eternabond over the crack.
No leaks in about 5 years. I just never got around to replacing the A's skylight. :E
Rockhillmanor also has a good idea. The spray should work well. - Chris_BryantExplorer IIDrill a small hole at the end of the crack, cover with eternabond. Plan on replacing at your earliest convenience.
- rockhillmanorExplorer III have replaced my skylight cover twice. THEN I drove under a tree branch and cracked it again. :R
Instead of replacing it again. I used this. It's clear and it STAYS snug in place AND it prevented it from leaking. Going on 2 years now and still working! This IMHO is just incredible stuff for a lot of applications. Completely stops water leaks.
It also comes in a tube with a nice caulking gun type applicator for directing at a crack.
